Stackable becomes a partner in the CVE programme

Wedel, 14.05.2025. The IT company Stackable has now been authorised by the CVE programme
as a CVE Numbering Authority, or CNA for short. The open source experts and developers of a
modular data platform are thus one of only 23 companies from Germany that are authorised to
enter software vulnerabilities with an identification number in the globally established programme
and publish the content. Behind this is the non-profit organisation Mitre.

For the Stackable team, the inclusion marks a milestone in vulnerability management in their data
platform. They can now share and gather expertise with other CNAs, prepare specifically for threat
scenarios and report discovered vulnerabilities independently without having to rely on the help of
third parties. Stackable was also appointed to the expert group on the Cyber Resilience Act by the
European Commission at the end of 2024, where it shares security expertise with representatives
from politics, business and associations.

The CVE programme – Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures – is an international, community-
based initiative that identifies, describes and catalogues IT vulnerabilities. Members of theprogramme record potential risks, numbered consecutively, in a publicly accessible database. In
this way, the participants ensure standardised communication and coordination in order to
eliminate vulnerabilities in a time and cost-efficient manner.

Lars Francke, co-founder and CTO of Stackable, is delighted to be included in the CVE programme:
“For over 25 years, the CVE programme has served as a central exchange point for IT
vulnerabilities. And in that time, it has not only stood the test of time, but has become a global
standard. We are very proud to now be part of this network and to be able to play our part in
making the digital world a little more secure.”
